How to Clean Mold in Shower Grout
Your shower provides the perfect environment for mold to grow. Here’s how to clean mold in shower grout.
How to Clean Mold in Shower Grout
Bleach
Bleach is the most effective method for removing mold from shower grout.
Method One: Mix one part bleach with four parts water in a spray bottle. Spray the affected area and wait for about 30 minutes before scrubbing with a brush. Rinse with water.
Method Two: Using a toothbrush, scrub bleach directly into moldy grout and let sit for 30 minutes. Rinse with water.
Baking Soda
Baking soda is a safe option for cleaning mold, though it isn’t always as effective as bleach.
Method One: Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with one gallon of water. Use a spray bottle to apply the mixture to the affected area. Let it sit for half an hour and then rinse the surface with warm water.
Method Two: Put baking soda on a damp sponge and scrub the tile and grout. Then rinse with warm water.
Method Three: Create a paste with baking soda and water, and spread it directly over the grout. After 10 minutes, scrub with a brush and rinse.
