Should You Choose Soft Washing?
Your Power Washing Options
Power washing often refers to three kinds of cleaning: power washing, pressure washing, and soft washing. Power Washing combines high heat and a pressurized stream of water to clean surfaces. Pressure Washing uses a strong stream of water to clean but, unlike power washing, it’s not done at a high temperature. Soft Washing utilizes a combination of soap, chemicals, and water to clean surfaces without a pressurized stream of water. At JDog Carpet Cleaning & Floor Care, we choose to utilize soft power washing. Is it the right option for you?
Should You Choose Soft Washing?
Soft power washing is probably the right choice for you if:
- You are cleaning an area that is subject to damage. Unfortunately, power and pressure washing can cause chipping, tears, and damage to siding, walkways, decks, fabrics, and more due to the high psi required for cleaning. Soft power washing does not utilize a pressurized stream for cleaning, making it safer for most surfaces.
- You are worried about water damage. If used incorrectly, a power washer can force water into the cracks of your foundation, siding, or roof, causing water damage inside your home that you might not even see. This can lead to rot and mold growth.
- You have concerns about bodily harm. Power and pressure washers generate a psi that’s over 25 times greater than your garden hose. This powerful spray can be hazardous to you and your family causing lacerations, bruises, punctures, and eye injuries. Because soft washing does not utilize a pressurized stream to clean, you don’t face the same risk of injury.
